Beech

Richard Beech buried 15 Jan 1703/04 at Harthill, Yorkshire, married Margaret Peck 14 Jun 1668 at Harthill, Yorkshire. Margaret Peck was c.1 Mar 1639 at Harthill, and buried 13 Nov 1712, Harthill, daughter of William Peck (b.1601) and Elizabeth Barke (b.1605) of Harthill. They had a son William (1678-1729)

William Beech (1678-1729) c.5 Nov 1678 Harthill, Yorkshire, married Martha Rogers (1684-1757) in 1705 at Richard (1706-1796)

Richard Beech (1706-1796) c. 26 May 1706 Harthill, Yorkshire married Mary Butler 26 Dec 1735 at Harthill. Mary died 20 Jan 1800 Harthill. They had a son William Beech (b.1745)

William Beech christened 6 Oct 1745 at Harthill married Martha Outram (1755-1833) 17 Aug 1776 at Rotherham. Martha was daughter of John Outram (1726-1784) and Mary (1722-1791) (Nee Roberts) of Rotherham. Wm and Martha had a son John Beech (1779-1841)

John Beech (1779-1841) born 3 Jan 1779 at Rawmarsh, Rotherham, married Ellen Copley 3 Dec 1804 at Rotherham. Ellen was christened 25 Dec 1782 at Wentworth, Yorkshire, and buried 7 May 1838 at Rotherham, the daughter of James Copley (1751-1831) and Phoebe (1755-1827)(Nee Wood) both of Wentworth. John and Ellen had a son John (1811-1872)

John Beech (1811-1872) born 11 Jan 1811 at Catcliffe married Ann Froggatt (1808-1886) on 3 Nov 1833 at Sheffield. Ann was daughter of William Froggitt (1775-1854) and Susanna (1776-1853)(Nee Housley). John and Ann had a son William born 15 Jun 1836 at Catcliffe.

William Beech (b.1836) married twice. M1 Teresa Graham(1839-1867) 24 Jul 1859 at Sheffield. M2 Elizabeth Woolhouse on 28 Aug 1870. Teresa Graham was the daughter of Richard Graham and his wife Sarah (nee Auckland) of Wickersley.

Catcliffe - In 1871 living at the small general shop in Catcliffe:

William Beech, aged 57, a Medical Bottle blower, born in Whiston and his wife, Ann, aged 54, born in Wales. Their children:

Children and grandchild all born in Catcliffe.

 

Also living in a cottage in Catcliffe in 1871 - Jack Beech aged 35, a Glass blower, born in Catcliffe, his wife Jane, aged 30, born in Wickersley, and their daughter Emma, aged 1, born in Wickersley.

In the Blacksmith's Cottage lived William Beech, unmarried, aged 33, born in Whiston. Also living there was his Housekeeper, Mary Hall, aged 27, unmarried, born in Swallownest.
