Thomas Revill

Thomas Revill, son
of James and Jane Revill, was born about 5th May 1847 in Austerfield Yorkshire, and died 8th Dec 1935 at Hawksley Farm,
Sutton- Cum- Lound,
Nottinghamshire .
He married Elizabeth Maxfield, daughter of Thomas Maxfield
and
Hannah Stocks.
She was born 29th May
1846 in Blaxton, Yorkshire , and died 1st March 1918 at Highfield Farm Catcliffe, Rotherham, South Yorkshire
From 1869 until 1871 Thomas was a Farm Labourer at Nether Haugh, Greasbrough Rotherham. The first three children were born here and at
this time his brother Richard was living nearby at Parkgate, Rotherham. Thomas was living at Top Bole Hill, Treeton, Rotherham in 1874 and
was a Farm Labourer
In 1881 Thomas and family were living at New Cottages, Treeton and Thomas was an Agricultural labourer, Spa Farm is the next entry in the census, so maybe he was employed by Samuel Brown.
The 1891 census shows that the family were living at No. 1 Cockholme:
Thomas Revill, head of the family. He was a Farm Labourer,aged 43 , born in Austerfield, Yorkshire on 5th May,1847.
His wife was Elizabeth, nee Maxfield, aged 45. She was born on 29 May 1846 in Blaxton Yorkshire, one of eight children of
Thomas Maxfield and Hannah Stocks.

In 1901 the family were living at No. 5 Cockholme, according to the census:

- and Margaret Maxfield a niece aged 13
Thomas was buried at St. Helen's Churchyard ,Treeton the cause of death: Abdominal Carcinoma , he was aged 89 years.

The death of one of the oldest inhabitants of the village of Sutton-cum-Lound, Mr. Thomas Revill, took place on Sunday December 8th, in his 89th year. He resided at Hawksley's Farm about 5 years ago and was previousy employed by the late Mr. G. Moody, a farmer at Treeton, for about 20 years. He was held in the highest esteem by all his friends. He was a regular attender at the Wesleyan Methodist Chapel.
The interment took place on Wednesday December 11th in Treeton Churchyard. The Rev. Kerr, Vicar of Treeton Parish Church officiated at the church and interment.

Elizabeth Maxfield:
Birth date could be 29th May 1845. May have the name Ann as well. At birth her mothers name was Hannah.
Elizabeth was buried on the 5th March, 1918, at St Helen's Churchyard Treeton with Thomas. She was aged 71 yrs.The cause of death was: Senility, Cardiac Failure

In Loving memory of my dear husband James Revill who was suddenly called from this life July 7th 1917 aged 43
Florence Hannah Revill departed this life 7th April 1961 aged 79.
Interred at St. Helens Church Treeton April 11th 1961.
Also their daughter Dorothy died 3rd February 2000 aged 93 years
